What exactly is free?

The rest of the recommendations and the protocol that measures them need a paid plan. Every new account also has the whole of Umbral open for its first 7 days, no card needed; when that ends, free stays free.
Do I pay per device?
No. One plan covers every wearable you connect, and Umbral keeps a separate band per device so two sources are never averaged into one wrong number.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your account drops back to the free plan. Your history and your bands stay, the first recommendation stays open, and you can ask us to export or delete everything at any point.
Do I have to buy supplements through you?
No. Umbral grades the evidence and measures whether your metrics moved. Where we link to a product we disclose that we may earn a commission, and no recommendation changes because of it.
What does Life access actually cover?
Access for as long as Umbral runs the service — the lifetime of the product, not a promise about yours. If we ever stop, we will say so plainly and hand you your data.
Is this a medical service?
No. Umbral is a wellness product, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and red flags are routed to a clinician instead of a supplement.
